Freedom from Codependency
Treating codependency is both challenging and deeply transformative. It’s not a quick fix, but a process—a journey of awareness, healing, and renewal. At its core, codependency is not just about behavior; it’s about how we learned to survive relationships marked by fear, control, or emotional inconsistency. Many of us grew up with caregivers whose needs or emotions dominated the home environment. In that space, we learned to stay safe through submission, compliance, or people-pleasing.
You Are Not Broken: The Stunning Message at the Heart of IFS Therapy
One of the most painful beliefs people carry into therapy is this:
“Something is wrong with me.”
Not just something happened to me, but I am broken at my core.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy offers a radically different—and deeply hopeful—message.
Putting Together My Puzzle (The Healing Journey)
Most people come to therapy feeling confused about why they struggle.
They know something hurts.
They know patterns repeat.
They know their body reacts in ways they don’t fully understand.
A New Approach: EMDR Intensives
Trauma-Informed Counseling for Adults
There are moments in life when you know you are ready for deeper work.
Not just coping.
Not just insight.
But real healing.
The Rhythm of Therapy
The Rhythm of Our Therapy Work
A simple guide so you know what we’re doing each session
Our sessions follow a steady rhythm.
Over time, you’ll recognize it.
That predictability helps your nervous system feel safe — and safety is what allows healing.
The Power of Practicing Being Present
Creating a Pathway for Healing
One of the most important things I teach in therapy is surprisingly simple:
Practice being present.
Not fixing.
Not forcing change.
Not analyzing every thought.
Just practicing being here.
And it turns out that simple practice can change everything.
The Goal of Therapy
Most people come to therapy aware that “something is wrong.” Part of the journey in therapy is coming to clarity regarding what that “something” is.
Why Healing Feels Like Work — But Leads to Rest
There’s a phrase in Scripture that can feel confusing at first:
“Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest…” — Hebrews 4:11
Labor… to enter rest?
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy, as I see it, can be more than solving problems or reducing symptoms. It can be a journey of becoming more aware, more grounded, more whole, and more at peace within ourselves and with God. Many people come to therapy carrying anxiety, pain, confusion, relationship struggles, trauma, shame, or exhaustion. Often, they have spent years trying to cope, push through, stay strong, or simply survive. My work is to help people move beyond survival mode and toward a deeper experience of safety, clarity, healing, and secure connection.
Recovering from Codependency: A Trauma-Informed Roadmap to Strength
Codependency is often misunderstood.
It is not weakness.
It is not immaturity.
It is not simply “loving too much.”
Codependency is a survival strategy.
It is what happens when a nervous system learns:
“I stay safe by not threatening the attachment figure.”
