Online trauma therapy for Virginia adults.
Trauma does not always look like a single dramatic event. For many adults it shows up as anxiety that will not switch off, feeling on edge in relationships, shutting down under stress, or reacting to small things in ways that seem out of proportion. Understanding where it comes from often is not enough to make it stop.
Richard's trauma work uses EMDR, a well-researched therapy for PTSD and trauma, to help the brain reprocess memories that never fully settled.
He works with single-incident trauma, childhood and complex trauma, religious trauma, and the anxiety and panic that often grow out of them. Sessions are paced carefully, with time spent building stability before any memory work begins.
All sessions are 50 minutes and fully online. Richard Forde Counseling is a self-pay practice. New clients are accepted on a self-pay basis only, at $145 per 50-minute session. Here is why I choose a private-pay practice.
