──── WHAT IT AN
What is an EMDR Intensive?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based trauma therapy that helps the brain and nervous system reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or intrusive.
An EMDR Intensive condenses this work into longer sessions (3-hour blocks) allowing for:
Deeper therapeutic focus
Fewer disruptions between sessions
Greater nervous-system integration
For clients seeking Christian counseling, intensives may include prayer, Scripture, and faith-based reflection when desired — always at your pace and never imposed.
──── WHY CHOOSE US
Why choose an EMDR Intensive?

──── HEALING THROUGH FAITH
A trauma-informed Christian approach
From a Christian perspective, trauma is not a spiritual failure. It reflects how the body and brain adapted to survive.
EMDR works with the way God designed the nervous system to heal — allowing painful experiences to move from ongoing threat into integrated memory.
This process often leads to greater emotional freedom, clarity, and peace.

EMDR Intensives Questions:
-
An EMDR intensive is EMDR therapy delivered in extended three-hour blocks rather than weekly 50-minute sessions. The longer format allows the nervous system to stay engaged long enough to reach and reprocess material that shorter sessions often cannot get to.
-
Intensives are offered in three-hour blocks at $145 per hour, or $435 per block. This is a self-pay practice, which keeps your record private and means no diagnosis is required. A superbill can be provided for out-of-network reimbursement.
-
Most clients complete their work in one to three three-hour blocks, though this depends entirely on what you are bringing and how your system responds. We decide together during the consultation, and nothing is packaged or prepaid.
-
Neither format is better in the abstract — they suit different situations. Intensives tend to fit people addressing a specific memory or event, those whose schedules make weekly appointments unreliable, and those who have been in talk therapy for years and sense they are circling something.
-
No. Faith integration is entirely optional. Some clients want prayer and Scripture woven into the work, others want a therapist who understands that framework without bringing it into the room, and both are equally welcome.
-
Yes — all intensives are virtual. Online EMDR is well established and effective for most adults, and it removes the travel and scheduling friction that often causes people to postpone this kind of focused work.
